Introduction a horror fanatic
Hello!
My name is Tabitha. I go by Tabi to the people who know me. I think Tabitha
sounds like an older woman, so I shortened it for now and no, I cannot wiggle
my nose like the daughter on Bewitched. Although, I do have
blue eyes like her. Anyway, I am 25 years old. I transferred here after a few
major changes. Going from a science degree to accounting took some time. I have
been a senior a few years now. I make myself feel better by saying that I have
two associate degrees. Accounting is something that has always been intriguing
to me. It is interesting to me because accounting is like a huge difficult
puzzle piece. Everything has its own place in accounting and it is my job to
find it or fix the placement. I am currently going for my bachelors, then will get
a job and work on my master’s degree in accounting. I have not picked a field
yet, but I intend to before school ends for me.
I
am a huge horror genre fan. I also love thrillers and supernatural type shows,
books, and movies. I tend to read romantic books by Nicholas Sparks, but I also
switch it up with a horror or thriller type book every once in a while. 10 Things I Hate About You is by far my
favorite movie. Coyote Ugly is a close
second. These are two movies that I could watch over and over without getting
tired of them. I tend to watch movies once, then I do not feel the need to
watch it again.
Shinedown
and Metallica are my favorite bands. I listen to alternative rock, hip hop, R
& B, classic rock, and basically anything else except country. Music is one
of the only things that can turn my mood around when I am not in the best mood.
My favorite |
I have two beautiful dogs, Elsa and Molly. Elsa is an Eskimo pom with a quirky personality. Molly is a chorkie who can be a pain in the butt, but she is the best cuddler around.

I play volleyball in co-ed and women's adult leagues. I went to college originally on a volleyball scholarship, but when I changed majors I had to transfer to a school that had that major. After I transferred back to my hometown, I started coaching club volleyball for an inner-city team in OKC.
Probably the most interesting thing about me is that I work at Frontier City's Fright Fest as a supervisor in the haunted house. I usually dress up as a doll, but sometimes I switch it up by putting costumes together from clothes I find at the thrift store. I have been doing this for about 8 years now. My normal job year-round is being a server at O'Connell's on campus corner.
Me on the news a few years ago |
If any of you would like to know anything more or want me to expand on what I have already said, I will be glad to share. :)
Oh, I had forgotten about Tabitha in Bewitched until you mentioned that here! I always remember that the mother was Endora because of the Witch of Endor (she is in the Bible Women unit of the UnTextbook), but I had forgotten about the Tabitha connection. What a fun way to remember your name! And how cool that you work at Fright Fest: maybe you could even turn that into a project for this class; having Halloween is always a great feature of the Fall semester in this class. Horror Storybooks are especially welcome! I just check the Fright Fest website and it looks like it starts already September 30. I will be sure to include that in the class announcements for that weekend. That is a seriously scary picture from your moment of TV fame...! :-)
ReplyDeleteHey Tabitha! You're not the only person who has been through several major changes. Readjusting to the new curriculum and trying to catch up is always going to be hard, but you'll get there! We share the same taste in music, except that I actually enjoy country music (don't judge; that's the result of growing up in Oklahoma). Anyways, good luck with the rest of the semester!
ReplyDeleteHi Tabitha!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Sydney and I’m glad to hear that you are doing something that you are really passionate about. I’m a science major but I was getting a minor in business, and I took intro to accounting and it was one of my favorite business classes. I also love thrillers and supernatural shows like Vampire Diaries and The Originals. Oh and your dogs are the cutest!! I have a Boston Terrier who is also a wonderful cuddlier.
Hi Tabitha! I'm on track to be a senior for more than a year currently, so you're not alone! After reading through you're introduction blog I see that we have a lot in common. My favorite genre is in fact horror too. I love reading and watching anything horror related, but afterwards it always gets into my head and I start freaking myself out. Country is also the only genre that I don't enjoy or listen to at all, but I am very musically diverse too. That's so cool that you were featured on the news and that you supervise the haunted house during Fright Fest! I remember a couple years ago I went there with my friends and my friend was grabbing on my shirt, but by the end of the haunted house my shirt was completely stretched out...
ReplyDeleteHello Tabi! Is the reason why you are a part of Frontier City's fright fest is because you like horror so much? Dressing as a doll is a good idea, dolls can be super creepy at times. Speaking of supernatural type shows, do you watch the show Supernatural? I really enjoy that show, but it is probably the scariest thing that I will watch. I am not super into being frightened. Also, I loved the bewitched reference! Did you watch the show a lot as a kid? Also, your dogs are adorable.
ReplyDeleteHi Tabi!
ReplyDeleteI am also a huge fan of horror movies and books. My favorite horror book I read was It. What is yours? It must be a lot of fun to work at Frontier City's Fright Fest. Your Ekimo pom looks like my first dog, Rusty. He was my best friend until I was about three. Do you have any interesting stories to tell about working at O’Con’s or Fright Fest?
Hi Tabi! Your dogs are so cute! Honestly, seeing pictures of everyone's pets is my favorite part of reading introduction posts! I also love horror movies. Stephen King's It actually comes out tonight and I am so excited. What is your favorite horror movie? As for Coyote Ugly, that is also one of my all time favorite movies. Working at a haunted house sounds really fun! I bet you are excited for the upcoming season.
ReplyDeleteHi Tabi, it is nice to meet you! Your costume in that picture is awesome! I have not been to the haunted house in Frontier City, but it looks like a good time! When does that start up? I like how you said that music is the one thing that can turn your mood around. It is amazing what music can do, it is one of the only things that can calm down my road rage during traffic. I just have to turn up the music and jam out and suddenly I don't mind the stop and go traffic as much.
ReplyDeleteHey Tabi, it is nice to meet you. Metallica is indeed an awesome band and I too am fan of Classic Rock. It must have been really cool working at a haunted house at Frontier City! Your dogs are pretty awesome. I've always had smaller "lap" dogs since my father is allergic so even I usually prefer little dogs just because that's what I've grown up with. I'm not really into the horror genre myself but I have seen a few good Stephen King movies from time to time that were not Stand by Me. I actually just watched Children of the Corn a couple of weeks ago. If you haven't seen that yet I definitely recommend it. I've been thinking about watching Chucky on Netflix, but I'm not sure if the first one is on there and if I'm gonna watch them I'd wanna start at the beginning.
ReplyDeleteHello! Nice to meet you Tabi! You clearly have great taste in music, even if I strictly prefer Metallica's older stuff. I know it's cliche but I have to say Enter Sandman is my favorite song by them. Your dogs are so cute! I have a rottweiler named Bella but she lives with my parents on the ranch. Needless to say I am super jealous you have two puppies!
ReplyDeleteGood luck this semester!
